China’s imports of these basic chemicals increased by 15% to 100% in 2015 versus 2014.
Imports of benzene in 2015 doubled, to 1.2 million tons. Other high growth imports into China included: isopropanol, up 20%, to 113,000 tons; cumene, also up 20%, to 652,000 tons; methanol, up 28%, to 5.5 million tons; p-xylene, up 17%, to 11.6 million tons; and VCM, up 15%, to 751,000 tons.
