Despite obvious economic issues in export markets, China’s exports of various fabricated plastic products were up. China exported 4.3 million tons of fabricated plastic products through August 2012, up 6% from the same period last year. The products making up the total were identifiable by specific polymers, such as polyethylene sacks and bags, and also consisted of mixed groups of polymers, for example, as would be found in kitchenware or builder’s ware. Contributing to the increase in the year to date volume were higher shipments of PE and PP sacks and bags to North America, of PVC floor and wall coverings to Western Europe and North America, and numerous products to other regions.
