Adani Group has announced plans to build a 1 million ton per year PVC plant in Mundra, Gujarat, scheduled on stream in 2028, to meet India’s growing demand for the polymer for agricultural, construction and industrial uses.
India’s imports of PVC have trended higher over the 2020 to April, 2025 period, rising from 1.8 million tons in 2020, to 3.5 million tons in 2024. Volume through April, 2025, was 1.2 million tons, up 11%. Imports from China surged over the period, supplanting volumes from Japan, Taiwan and others.
