ITP Projects HDPE Global Trade of 27.2 Million Tons in 2025, up 3% from 2024.

Large percentage gains are projected on exports of HDPE from North America for 2025 versus 2024, on higher volumes to all regional markets. Middle East exports are projected flat for the year.

ITP’s projections for global trade volume have consistently been with two percentage points of final data. The trend in global trade volume generally indicates the trend in global demand, given supply availability.

North America’s exports of HDPE to other regions are projected at 5 million tons, up 17% from 2024. Higher exports are projected to top volume destinations of Latin America and Asia-Pacific, and particularly large percentage gains to Europe and Africa.

Middle East exports of HDPE are projected unchanged at 8.4 million tons. There is no change in volume to Asia-Pacific, shipments to Europe show small gains, and exports to Africa are down.
