Japan’s April YTD shipments of ABS, polyacetals and SAN were down; polycarbonates exports increased slightly.

Lower exports to China and Hong Kong were key factors in declines of 12%-31% on Japan’s exports April 2012 YTD of ABS, polyacetals and SAN. Export volumes ranged 14-17 K tons each for polyacetals and SAN; 41 K tons for ABS.

Polycarbonates exports were up 3% YTD, to 67 K tons, on small gains to Japan’s top destinations: China and Hong Kong. Smaller volumes were shipped throughout the Asia-Pacific region and worldwide, high growth export destinations including, among others,  South Korea, Brazil and Vietnam.
