Asia-Pacific’s intra-regional trade in ethylene jumped 24% in 2013; intra-regional trade in propylene was up 18%.Much of the increase in the region’s ethylene intra-regional trade reflected a 20% increase in imports into China and higher exports from Korea, Japan, Taiwan and Singapore. China’s propylene imports were up 23%; propylene exports from Japan and Thailand increased. Imports of ethylene and propylene into the Asia-Pacific region dropped, mainly on lower volumes from the Middle East.
