China’s imports of LLDPE surged to an all time high of 330,000 tons in December, ending 2016 at 2.6 million tons, up 2% from the prior year.
China’s imports of LDPE, HDPE and EVA also were very strong in December, partly in advance of the Chinese New Year holiday starting January 28th.
Imports of HDPE totaled 5.3 million tons in 2016, up 3%; EVA was 0.9 million tons, up 5%. Imports of LDPE, however, fell by 6%, to 2.1 million tons.
