Much higher imports into Western Europe from the Middle East and also Asia-Pacific were prominent trends in cyclohexane trade through August 2014.
Cylohexane global trade volume was down 11% through August, to 680,000 tons, based on reporting countries.
Trade within Western Europe contracted by 16% but this decline in volume was largely offset by imports from the Middle East of 125,000 tons, up 17% and from Asia-Pacific, 51,000 tons, up 126%. Key suppliers included: Saudi Arabia, Thailand and India.
Western Europe also imported higher volumes from both regions in 2013: the Middle East supplied 230,000 tons, up 6%; Asia-Pacific 61,000 tons, up 85%.
