A 44% increase in PET exports from China and a 90% rise from India affected trade flows around the globe.

Asia-Pacific’s intra-regional trade expanded by 12%; the region’s exports abroad rose 14%; and, imports into the region fell 6%. Asia-Pacific shipped much higher volumes to Western Europe, Eastern Europe, Africa and the Americas. PET shipments from the Middle East were down 5%. Exports from Western Europe, North America and Latin America also dropped.
