US Drops 50% Tariffs on Imports of PE Bags/Sacks and PP Film/Sheet from Canada, but Adds Tariffs on Imports of Bottle Grade PET and Elastomeric Polyurethanes.

The new order goes into effect October 30, 2026. The original imposition of tariffs on the PE and PP fabricated products, and many others, was announced on July 20, 2026, as retaliation against punitive measures by Canada on imports of automobiles from US. (Proclamation 11048 Imposing Additional Duties to Offset Canadian Discrimination Against the Commerce of the United States with Respect to Motor Vehicles.)

The products added, removed and re-added is available on White House Presidential Orders.
