Nearly 3 million tons of PVC polymer was traded globally in the first quarter of 2014, down 5% from last year’s first quarter.

A major contributing factor behind the drop in world trade volume was a 14% decline in exports from North America. The region’s exports to Western Europe, Eastern Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific were down by 11% – 35%. Only exports to Latin America increased, by 2%.
