North America exported 4.8 million tons of ethylene polymers to destinations outside the region in 2017, down 7%. Shipments to Europe and Latin America generally declined across polymer grades but exports to Asia-Pacific were higher.
North America’s exports by major polymer were: HDPE, 1.8 million tons, down 16%; LDPE, 0.7 million tons, up 4%; LLDPE, 0.8 million tons, down 8%; EVA, 0.3 million tons, up 13%; ethylene-alpha-olefins copolymers, 0.7 million tons.
