Reflecting new capacity, US exports of ethylene polymers (LDPE, LLDPE, EAOC, HDPE, EVA, Copolymers) trended upward from the last quarter of 2017 and climbed through several new highs through July 2018.
Year to date through July US exports totaled 3.9 million tons, up 20% from the same period in 2017. Latin America, including Mexico, was the destination for 45% of the total volume (1.8 million tons) up 12%; Asia-Pacific for 24%, 920,000 tons, up 31%; and Western Europe for 12%, 485,000 tons, noting that exports to this destination were up 103%.
