New Polypropylene Capacity Reflected in Russia’s Exports and Imports

Polypropylene exports were up sharply through June 2013; imports were down.

Russia’s exports of PP homopolymer were 31,000 tons through June, 2013, up 506% from minor volumes in the prior year. Top destinations were: China, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Germany, Belgium and Vietnam. Over the same time period, Russia’s homopolymer imports dropped by 44%, to 54,000 tons.

Russia’s exports of propylene copolymers to date were negligible; imports of propylene copolymers were up 9%, to 44,000 tons.
