Polyacetals Global Trade Volume Rises

The amount of polyacetals polymer traded globally as imports and exports was particularly heavy from March through June of 2013. Expanded trade within the Asia-Pacific region and substantially higher imports into that region from Western Europe contributed to the rise in volume.

After a slow start to 2013, polyacetals global trade volume rebounded in March and continued high through mid-year. Through June, 415,000 tons of polymer were traded globally, up 3% from the prior year.

A 5% increase in Asia-Pacific intra-regional trade reflected higher imports into China, Singapore and other markets in the region and higher exports from South Korea and Taiwan. In addition, the region imported over 30,000 tons from Western Europe, up 37% and 34,000 tons from North America, down 1%.
