Western Europe imported 4.3 million tons of ethylene polymers in 2017 from all outside sources, up 4% from the prior year, and exported to destinations outside the region slightly less than it had imported, 4.2 million tons, up 7%.
Western Europe’s imports by polymer were: HDPE, 1.8 million tons, up 3%; LDPE, 0.7 million tons, up 5%; LLDPE, 1.1 million tons, down 4%; EVA, 0.09 million tons, up 14%; and ethylene-alpha-olefins copolymers, 0.4 million tons.
Western Europe’s exports by polymer were: HDPE, 1.1 million tons, up 7%; LDPE, 1.4 million tons, up 11%; LLDPE, 0.6 million tons, up 9%; EVA, 0.2 million tons, up 13%; and ethylene-alpha-olefins copolymers, 0.5 million tons.
