Qatar exports huge volumes of EDC, VCM, polyethylene and methanol. Qatar also imports numerous polymers and chemicals. Among the largest volume imports, ranging from 20,000 to 30,000 tons each through August 2014, were ethylene monomer, ethylene glycol, and L/LLDPE.

Other imports, of from 1000 to 6000 tons each YTD included HDPE, PMMA polymer and sheet, polypropylene homopolymer, polystyrene (mainly expandable PS), EVA, polyurethanes and PVC (uncompounded, and compounded).
