Higher Imports into Western Europe of PVC, ABS, PTA, N-Butyl Acetate, Polyethylene and Polypropylene from Asia-Pacific are Projected in 2025. Increases Expected on Polyethylene from North America and Polypropylene from the Middle East.

A surge in imports of these and other polymers and chemicals have led to warnings of an existential crisis for the European chemical industry, and, have led INEOS to announce plans to file 10 major anti-dumping cases to protect these strategic materials.

ITP projected imports into Western Europe from Asia-Pacific:

In addition to higher imports into Western Europe of PE and PP from Asia-Pacific, ITP projects a 30% jump in PE from North America, but a 1% decline from the Middle East. Imports of PP from the Middle East are projected up 6% for the year.

INEOS’ News Release warns that weak trade policies allow a “flood of low-cost, high-carbon imports threatening thousands of European manufacturing jobs, investment and sovereignty.” Anti-dumping action is planned against imports of these and other products.
