China exported nearly 600,000 tons of PVC through August 2013, up 104% from the prior year. Imports of PVC into China were down 15% for the period, to 740,000 tons.

Among China’s highest volume and growth export destinations were: India, Russia, Malaysia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Vietnam.

There has been a downward trend in PVC imports into China since about 2011.  Through August 2013, imports from China’s top two sources, Taiwan and the US, were down 19% and 29%, respectively.
