Imports into Western Europe from all other regions of LDPE/LLDPE, HDPE, EVA and Ethylene Copolymers (Ethylene-alpha-Olefins Copolymers plus Other Ethylene Copolymers) are projected by International Trader Publications to be down 4% at yearend 2017 versus 2016, to 4 million tons.
The decline in import volume in 2017 versus 2016 totals about 170,000 tons. In addition, Western Europe’s exports to other regions are projected to be up 7% for the year, or 275,000 tons higher than last year. These indicators of lower demand are only partly offset by a projected increase in intra-regional trade of 3%, or 300,000 tons.
