There were large percentage increases on imports of LDPE, LLDPE, HDPE, polypropylene homopolymer and propylene copolymers into India in the first half of 2015, with new record highs on all but one.
India is a much smaller import market than China, but with much higher growth in the first half of 2015 and new record highs on imports of LDPE, HDPE, polypropylene homopolymer and propylene copolymers.
YTD through June, India’s imports were: LDPE, 164,000 tons, up 17%; LLDPE, 300,000 tons, up 18%; HDPE, 311,000 tons, up 38%; polypropylene homopolymer, 270,000 tons, up 43%; and propylene copolymers, 67,000 tons, up 23%.
Also of note were India’s exports of polypropylene, which were down 44% through June, to 252,000 tons.
