Trade expanded at widely varying rates from 2017 to 2020. HDPE grew at an average annual rate of 6.5%, LDPE at 2.5%, and LLDPE at 14%.

US Exports of Ethylene Polymers Down 3% Through October
The United States exported a total of 4.5 million tons of ethylene polymers through October 2017, down 3% from the prior year. The small decline was the net of lower shipments of LLDPE and HDPE, partly offset by gains on exports of LDPE, EVA and Ethylene Copolymers.
China’s Imports of Recycle PET Plummet
China’s imports of recycle PET fell sharply in July, 2017, to 167,000 tons. This compared with monthly volumes as high as 275,000 tons within the last year. The average price picked up slightly, to $508/ton. Continue reading
