Terephthalic acid imports into the United States trended upward for most of 2014 through September, volume YTD of 409,000 tons up 18%.

Imports in September, 60,000 tons, were particularly high, the average price at $1204/ton.

Canada supplied 371,000 tons of the YTD total; Mexico 23,000 tons. Belgium, Brazil and Thailand each supplied 1000-7000 tons.
