Global trade in ethylene and propylene monomer fluctuated over the five-year period, with a sharp downturn in 2020.Continue reading
Polypropylene homopolymer global trade volume increased by 3.7% CAGR from 2016 through 2020 (projected). Propylene copolymers trade grew by 3.6% CAGR. For products that are widely traded, such as these polymers, growth in global trade volume generally reflects growth in global demand.Continue reading
ITP’s analysis of global trade in polystyrene indicates a 4% drop in the volume of general purpose polystyrene traded in 2014 versus 2013, to 3.3 million tons, and, a 2% increase in the volume of expandable polystyrene traded, to 2.2 million tons. Trends in global trade volume generally indicate trends in global demand.
ITP’s analysis of global trade indicates a 3% increase in the volume of polypropylene homopolymer traded in 2014 versus 2013, to 16.5 million tons. Trends in global trade volume generally indicate trends in global demand.
Preliminary data showed an increase in ethylene monomer global trade volume in 2011 from the prior year but decreased propylene monomer trade. Much higher exports of both monomers were evident from the Middle East; much higher exports of ethylene were seen from North America. Continue reading
Preliminary data for trade in 2011 shows: no change in polyacetals global trade volume from the prior year; small declines in polycarbonates and PET global volume; widely differing regional import and export trends. Continue reading
